'Four Thieves and the...' by ~RyanBraund is beautifully done! It feels like watching a silent film for the new century. Humor, gore, and a well-told story all mesh together delightfully. Written by Suggester ( Suggested by KneelingGlory and Featured by ArtisnotanAccident )

@13:14Thank you for the review! I also love shorts without dialogue and the best thing is that it speaks on a universal level. You don't need to know a language to understand what's going on.

Exactly! And when you can get across your message without using dialog, it shows the skill you have as a visual storyteller. I think a lot of short films fail because they are wordy.

Yes, this especially applies to student films (which Four Thieves is) because students can't pay for experienced actors and bad line-delivery can ruin even a great script.

Yeah, student films and generally most amateur films. When I was in film school, my classmates didn't understand this. I really wished they had on multiple occasions, haha.

o wow the overall approach to this short film was amazing! Talk about high security in the alleyway, lol.

Aww "reset" , that was great.

was the prize candy suppose to be a giant jaw breaker?

the sound of this peice played in perfectly with the concept. Not to serious, but not silly either. It was very wall mastered! Congrats on the DD it was well deserved. Now I want sweets :la:

Really good film! Nicely done, awesome set and good actors!

One question though: the soundtrack at the end, where the camera moves back in the alley and all the traps reset, reminds me of a song and I just don't know which one... I heard that melody before!

a better ending would have been if he finally got the giant candy and it was actually a bowling bowl. then the camera switches to the old man at home sleeping with the real candy.
